The Ministry of Energy prepares for possible power outages in Ukraine

According to glavcom.ua: The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine is considering the possibility of prolonged power outages in the country due to further Russian strikes on the energy infrastructure. According to the head of the department, Svitlana Hrynchuk, it is currently difficult to make precise forecasts, but it is necessary to be ready for various scenarios.

According to Hrynchuk, the situation with electricity in Ukraine will depend on the scale and frequency of attacks, as well as the speed of restoring damaged equipment. She emphasized that although the ministry is preparing for various scenarios, including the worst-case, it hopes to avoid long-term power outages.

Of course, we are preparing for various options, including the worst ones. But we hope that through joint efforts, we will be able to maintain the operation of the energy system and avoid long-term outages.

It was also noted that due to Russian attacks on the energy infrastructure, a schedule for hourly power outages has already been introduced in Chernihiv region. Hrynchuk pointed out that Russian forces are ruthlessly attacking the energy sector of the region, and that they attack almost immediately after the restoration of power supply.

It's too early to say that we will have prolonged outages... But, unfortunately, we have experience from previous years where the situation changes daily and anything can be expected.
