New mobile communication rules in Ukraine

According to glavcom.ua: As of October 2, new mobile communication rules came into effect in Ukraine, allowing the fight against spam calls and intrusive advertising. Mobile operators have the right to block suspicious calls, and subscribers can independently complain about intrusive numbers. This was reported by 'Glavkom', referencing the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 761.

Combatting telephone spam

A resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 761, approved on June 25, has begun to take effect in Ukraine, changing the procedure for providing electronic communication services. The innovations are aimed at significantly reducing the amount of telephone spam.

  • Companies must enter into contracts with the operator and use only registered numbers.
  • Calls from other numbers will be considered spam and will be automatically blocked.
Subscribers will also be able to help in the fight against spam. In the event of receiving an intrusive call, the user can file a complaint with the operator, and after confirmation, the number will be blocked.

Benefits for residents of combat zones

Special provisions are provided for subscribers in combat zones. Their SIM cards will not be blocked even for non-payment, and new users will be able to receive a free service package upon initial connection.

Thus, the government aims to ensure access to mobile communication for residents of frontline territories and reduce the number of spam calls.

It should be noted that 'Kyivstar' has announced another increase in subscription and contract package tariffs. The changes are explained by rising prices for electricity and fuel, as well as inflationary processes and currency fluctuations. The operator assures that despite the difficult conditions of war, it continues to invest in the support and restoration of the network.

The emergence of new mobile communication rules in Ukraine will allow for combating spam calls and excessive advertising by blocking suspicious calls. Benefits have also been provided for subscribers in combat zones to ensure their access to communication.
