New Military ID Cards Introduced in Ukraine: What Will Change for Servicemen
According to glavcom.ua: Ukraine is introducing a new military document - an ID card that combines several functions into one electronic medium. This will simplify the accounting of military personnel and make it more efficient and secure. The ID card will be mandatory for servicemen starting November 1, 2025.
Servicemen may use old documents until they receive the new card to avoid disruptions in their official duties. The order for the ID card is processed within 5 days, and the issuance is handled by the personnel services of the units or relevant authorities.
Who Needs an ID Card:
- when entering basic military service or during mobilization;
- when enlisting on a contract or attending military educational institutions;
- if the card has not been issued before.
The card includes a qualified electronic signature, access pass to military units, and a key for accessing the information systems of the Ministry of Defense. The card is valid for 10 years, and in case of loss, steps must be taken to resolve the issue. New documents are issued personally upon signature, and previous ones must be destroyed.
Starting November 2025, servicemen of the Armed Forces and the State Special Transport Service will be issued a new military accounting document - the ID card. This step is aimed at improving the efficiency and safety of military personnel accounting. The card combines several important functions and will simplify the service process for military personnel.
