Results of the activity of the Verkhovna Rada of the IX convocation in 2025
According to Главком: In 2025, the Verkhovna Rada of the IX convocation held 85 meetings, adopted over 500 new laws, reduced to a record low composition of 395 deputies, and the number of members of the 'Servant of the People' faction decreased. The year turned out to be without elections, which affected the political situation in the country.
By the end of the year, 395 deputies remained in the parliament, which is a historical minimum. During the year, 8 people's deputies left the Rada, including 4 deputies who died, among whom was Andriy Parubiy, who was killed in Lviv. The Verkhovna Rada welcomed 2 new deputies - Serhiy Melnyk and Dmytro Slynko. The 'Servant of the People' faction decreased from 232 to 229 deputies, indicating a reduction in its influence.
Parliament's activity and changes in the Cabinet of Ministers
Among the deputies who worked in parliament, 12 deputies systematically did not attend meetings, which sparked discussions about their activity. The Verkhovna Rada extended martial law 4 times, with the most votes cast in April for the extension of martial law - 357 'for'. One of the important decisions was the adoption of bill No. 12414 on July 22, which was supported by 263 deputies.
Also, in 2025, the Cabinet of Ministers was dismissed, with Yulia Svyrydenko becoming the new head. This year marked an important stage in the activity of the Verkhovna Rada, confirmed by the increasing number of laws adopted and changes in the composition of deputies.
The reduction in the number of deputies in the Verkhovna Rada to a record low may indicate difficulties in forming a stable political force and the influence of factions. At the same time, the adoption of a significant number of laws under martial law highlights the parliament's activity in responding to the challenges faced by the country. Changes in the composition of the Cabinet of Ministers may also affect the further political dynamics, considering the new approaches and strategies of the new leadership.
