Butter in Ukraine may become cheaper by 30%: what influences the market
The situation in the butter market
According to ХВИЛЯ: The situation in the Ukrainian butter market is deteriorating, caused by issues with raw material prices and a decline in exports. According to Infagro, internal sales and external exports have encountered new difficulties. Purchase prices for milk remain unattainable for most enterprises, complicating the production of butter.
In October, a decrease in block butter prices was recorded; however, production volumes have for the first time in the recent period been lower than last year. It is predicted that prices for fatty dairy products in Ukraine may decrease by 30-35% by the New Year holidays. This situation is caused, in particular, by the rising costs of raw materials and competitive pressure in the market.
Export and profitability
The export situation also raises concern. Ukrainian exporters sold butter in the EU for 7 euros per kilogram, but now it is being sold for 4.5 euros. This indicates a slump in external markets and disappointment in the EU regarding the quality of Ukrainian products. In mid-November, the price of 'extra' class milk decreased by 17%, which may affect the overall state of the market.
Experts believe that these factors affect the profitability of production, which may lead to further price reductions for butter in Ukraine. In the current situation, producers and consumers must monitor market dynamics, as changes can occur rapidly.
The drop in butter prices and export problems may have serious consequences for Ukrainian producers, as it affects their financial stability.
In conditions of increasing competition in international markets and price instability for raw materials, producers must adapt their strategies, which may lead to changes in production processes and resource management. The situation demands careful monitoring to avoid further economic difficulties.
