The Ministry of Justice has obliged property owners before 2013: what to do with registration

According to hvylya.net: Property owners in Ukraine who obtained ownership rights before 2013 need to independently register their property in the new State Register of Rights. Information from the old register did not automatically transfer to the new system.

The Ministry of Justice indicated that registration must be completed by October 4, 2025. Starting from January 1, 2013, a new electronic State Register of Real Rights to Real Estate came into effect in Ukraine, replacing the previous register and paper documents. However, property data was not automatically transferred, so owners must carry out the registration themselves.

'If the property is located in certain regions or cities, one can contact any state registrar or notary in Ukraine,' the Ministry of Justice explained.

For this procedure, it is necessary to have documents that confirm ownership rights, such as a certificate, sales contract, inheritance certificate, or other relevant documents. In some regions, it is possible to use the electronic portal 'Dia' for convenience.

Property owners before 2013 must undergo an unusual registration process for their property in the new State Register of Rights, as data from the previous register was not automatically transferred. It is necessary to submit the information by October 4, 2025, and have documents that confirm ownership rights.
