Presidential Remarks
“Naftogaz's independent supervisory board has unanimously appointed Serhiy Fedorenko, a true professional, to lead the company for a specified term.” - Volodymyr Zelenskyy
The President highlighted that Fedorenko, together with Serhiy Koretskyi, drove the transformation of Ukrnafta, successfully purging its internal processes of oligarchic influence. These efforts turned Ukrnafta into one of the most profitable state-owned enterprises.
The appointments of Serhiy Fedorenko and Serhiy Koretskyi to pivotal positions in Ukraine's oil and gas sector and government signal a push for stability and professional management in a field critical to the national economy. Both leaders bring extensive expertise, which could drive further growth at Naftogaz and enhance its financial performance. These moves also reflect ongoing efforts to rid the industry of oligarchic control and boost the efficiency of state-owned companies.
As Naftogaz prepares for a new chapter under the leadership of Serhiy Fedorenko, the broader implications for Ukraine's governance and energy strategy are becoming increasingly evident. Recently, Zelenskyy engaged in discussions with the newly appointed Prime Minister regarding critical winter preparations and the government's agenda, emphasizing the interconnectedness of energy management and national stability.
