Call Putin: Rutte warned three countries about potential Trump sanctions
NATO threatens Ukrainian partners regarding sanctions
According to hvylya.net: NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte warned that countries trading with Russia may become targets of secondary sanctions if Russia does not show readiness for serious peace negotiations. Among such countries, he named China, Brazil, and India. He expressed his position in Washington on July 15, the last day of his visit to the United States.
Rutte urged the leaders of these three countries to call Putin's authorities and emphasized that the sanctions could be 'very serious' and aimed at those who indirectly support the Russian aggressor. He also stated that European countries would continue to provide financial support to Ukraine until a real peace process gets underway.
On July 14, U.S. President Donald Trump also announced the possibility of imposing tough tariffs against Russia. If agreements are not reached within 50 days, tariffs may be imposed at 100%, Trump emphasized.
We remind you that the European Union failed to adopt the 18th package of sanctions against Russia due to opposition from several countries.
During his speech in Washington, NATO Secretary General expressed serious concerns about the potential consequences for countries that support trade with Russia if the situation with Russia is not resolved diplomatically. He also highlighted the importance of further financial support for Ukraine from European countries until real peace negotiations begin.
