Zelensky and Trump discussed a deal on drones: Ukraine will receive Tomahawks
According to hvylya.net: On October 17, 2025, a meeting took place between the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, and the President of the United States, Donald Trump, at the White House. The American leader personally greeted his Ukrainian counterpart at the entrance to the presidential residence.
'He is a very strong leader who has been through a lot. We get along great,' Trump said about Zelensky before the negotiations began. The US President added that he wanted to discuss his phone call with Putin that took place yesterday, which lasted two and a half hours.
Trump expressed confidence that the Russian dictator wants to end the war. 'We will see what happens. I think Putin wants to end the war. I spoke to him yesterday for 2.5 hours, we discussed many details, he wants to finish it. Zelensky wants to finish it, we need to do it,' emphasized the US President.
Zelensky noted that the realistic possibility of ending the war through other negotiation formats exists. He expressed willingness to engage in dialogue in any format and proposed a plan that includes an exchange of drones and missiles with the US.
'We propose a deal to the US; we provide them with drones, and they give us 'Tomahawks' and other weaponry,' said the President of Ukraine.
Trump responded positively to this initiative, highlighting the quality characteristics of Ukrainian drones. An important point of discussion was the potential escalation of the conflict through long-range strikes.
Constructive negotiations between Zelensky and Trump at the White House regarding the end of the war in Ukraine and the exchange of weapons open new opportunities for conflict resolution and strengthening security in the region. The agreement on the exchange of drones and missiles could become an important step towards peace and stability.
