Support for Ukraine's Independence Day
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has also approved a resolution setting the amounts of one-time cash payments for Ukraine's Independence Day in 2026. This initiative underscores the importance of supporting various segments of the population, including war veterans, former concentration camp prisoners, and families of fallen defenders.
Additionally, it is worth noting that funds credited to National Cashback cards must be used by the end of June. Any unused funds as of June 30 inclusive will be returned to the state budget.
'I thank everyone who worked under harsh conditions this winter, and those who continue to work in repair and restoration teams under extremely challenging and dangerous circumstances. Thanks to your efforts, the enemy's attempts to plunge us into darkness have failed, and the country continues to thrive.' - Yulia Svyrydenko
These extra payments for emergency restoration crews represent a crucial step in supporting those working to rebuild the nation's infrastructure amid crisis. They highlight the government's commitment to providing financial backing to those on the front lines of mitigating war's aftermath. At the same time, the one-time payment initiative for Independence Day reflects attention to the social needs of diverse population groups, which could positively impact the country's social stability in the future.
In addition to the recent financial support for emergency restoration workers, the Ukrainian government has also allocated significant funds for hazard pay to enhance safety and well-being for those in critical repair roles. This move follows the approval of $6.6 million in hazard pay for over 12,000 repair workers, further emphasizing the administration's commitment to ensuring that those who risk their lives during challenging times are adequately compensated and supported.
