How Ukraine's 'Flora' Farm Thrives Amidst War with ARISE Project Support
Ukrainian Farm 'Flora' Grows Stronger During War, Backed by ARISE
According to Мінфін: An ARISE video project highlights the story of 'Flora' farm in Kryzhopil, led by Andrii Kaprytsia. Founded over two decades ago, this agricultural enterprise continues to expand despite the immense challenges posed by the ongoing war in Ukraine. With crucial support from the ARISE project, farmers like those at 'Flora' are adapting to new realities and preserving their vital agricultural output. This resilience is a testament to the determination of Ukraine's agricultural sector, which remains a cornerstone of the national economy even under fire.
The ARISE Project: A Pillar for Agricultural Recovery
Operating from 2023 to 2025, the ARISE project aims to provide comprehensive, inclusive support for the restoration of Ukraine's farming sector. The total funding mobilized for this initiative amounts to 595 million US dollars. This substantial sum comprises:
- a 230 million US dollar loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD);
- and a 365 million US dollar grant from the Ukraine Relief, Recovery, Reconstruction and Reform Trust Fund (URTF).
The ARISE project is implemented with the support of Ukraine's Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture, as well as the Entrepreneurship Development Fund and World Bank Ukraine. The deployment of such significant resources fosters the development of farms like 'Flora,' enabling them to continue operations and bolster the nation's food security during a period of profound crisis. International financial support like this is critical for Ukraine's economic stability as it defends itself.
The assistance delivered by ARISE is a vital component in rebuilding Ukraine's agricultural sector under wartime conditions. Sustaining and growing enterprises such as 'Flora' not only helps ensure a stable food supply but also preserves essential jobs, which is critically important for the country's economy. The allocated funds unlock new opportunities for farmers, allowing them to adapt to contemporary challenges and persist in their work under extraordinarily difficult circumstances.
