Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets personally took control of the situation regarding the hunger strike of Ukrainian Serhiy Kuznetsov, who was arrested as a suspect in the bombing of the 'Nord Stream' gas pipelines, reported Glavkom.
The lawyer of Kuznetsov told the ombudsman that the detainee is being held in harsh conditions, without proper sanitary conditions, access to special food, information, and the ability to communicate with family.
The court in Italy approved the extradition of the suspect to Germany due to his connection with the sabotage on the 'Nord Stream' pipelines in the Baltic Sea.
Actions of the Ombudsman and request to colleagues from Italy
Dmytro Lubinets appealed to the Italian ombudsman and the region of Lazio with a request to ensure the respect of the rights and conditions of the detention of the Ukrainian. Representatives of the Office of the Ombudsman of Ukraine plan to visit the place of detention of Serhiy Kuznetsov to check the conditions and provide support.
