From October 1, the Pension Fund of Ukraine will recalculate subsidies: who will have to apply in person
From October 1, the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) will begin a mass recalculation of housing subsidies for the heating season. For most Ukrainians, this process will occur automatically; however, some categories of citizens will need to apply to the Fund in person to update their data.
Automatic recalculation
According to Iryna Kovpashko, the automatic recalculation will be carried out for all households that have previously received subsidies during the non-heating period and in which there have been no changes affecting the amount. 'In general, all these people will receive an automatic recalculation,' she noted.
Need for personal application
Those who need to contact the Pension Fund with an application and income declaration include:
-
Applying for a subsidy for the first time.
-
Changes occurred in the composition of the household.
Citizens are obligated to inform the PFU about any changes that may affect their right to receive a subsidy. Otherwise, an automatic recalculation may occur based on outdated data.
Conditions for receiving a subsidy
Income for the subsidy calculation is considered for the I and II quarters of the current year, and income in the form of pensions for August of the same year.
Arrears and payments
Arrears for housing and communal services exceeding 680 hryvnias may be a reason for the denial of subsidy appointment. However, those who have signed a debt restructuring agreement or provided documentary evidence of debt payment may still receive it.
Payment deadlines
The recalculated subsidy for October will be received by Ukrainians in November. 'The payment of the housing subsidy will be made for the previous month, for September. That is, the size of the recalculated payments for the heating season... people will receive in November,' concluded Iryna Kovpashko.
The Pension Fund of Ukraine is starting a mass recalculation of housing subsidies from October 1, before the start of the heating season. Most subsidy recipients will automatically receive them, but some citizens must personally contact the Fund to update their data. In case of changes in households or the need to apply for a subsidy for the first time, it is necessary to apply in person for the recalculation. Arrears for utility services and payment conditions are also regulated by new PFU requirements to ensure fair payments to Ukrainian citizens.
