DBR officer sent soldiers to sell food: investigation of losses amounting to 2 million
DBR completed the investigation into a military officer
According to hvylya.net: The team of the State Bureau of Investigation has completed the pre-trial investigation regarding the fact that an officer of one military unit used his subordinates to sell street food in the Pokrovsk region of Donetsk.
According to information from the Bureau, it has been established that this officer encouraged two other servicemen not to go to the front and to stay in the unit, but they were supposed to work according to his plan and perform personal tasks unrelated to military service. In addition, he provided them with a monthly combat allowance.
'From January to October 2023, subordinate soldiers, who previously served as artists and musicians in the unit's orchestra, received 100 thousand hryvnias each month for participation in combat actions. Thus, the total amount of losses incurred by the state amounted to 2 million hryvnias,' the DBR reported.
The officer is accused of exceeding power or official authority in a state of martial law (Part 5 of Article 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The indictment regarding this fact has already been sent to court.
Consequences of violations
This article provides for up to 12 years of imprisonment.
The DBR is doing everything possible to recover the damages incurred.
As a result of the investigation, the DBR established that the military officer abused his position and required his subordinates to perform illegal tasks, violating the legislation of Ukraine. Immediate measures have been taken to recover the damages incurred, and the indictment has been sent to court for further consideration of the case.
