Forced Delivery to TCC: Legality of Busification Explained in Poltava
Roman Istomin, a representative of the Poltava Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Protection, stated in an interview with 'Glavkom' that the 'busification' of conscripts, which is often recorded on videos in social networks, is conducted within the framework of the law.
He explained that the forced delivery of military conscripts is a normal measure during wartime when citizens evade their duty. The state uses coercion only in cases when people do not wish to serve under contract or mobilization.
'Forced delivery does not mean automatic mobilization. Often after checking at the TCC, it turns out that the person has the right to deferment but did not manage to register it in time,' Istomin noted.
He also emphasized that the practice of forced delivery may be unpopular, but remains necessary in wartime conditions.
'Unfortunately, sometimes only coercion remains. Our civilized country still has enemies, and we must defend it if necessary,' Istomin concluded.
It is worth noting that the staffing level of TCC and SP currently stands at less than 40%. Military Ombudsman Olga Reshetilova pointed out that employees of territorial recruitment centers often work without days off for six months.
The Ukrainian state has the right to use coercion to ensure its own security in wartime when citizens evade military service. The forced delivery of military conscripts is a legal measure that is applied only in cases where other methods do not yield results. At the same time, the issue of staffing at military centers constantly remains on the agenda, as many employees work under difficult conditions, striving to ensure adequate training of military personnel in accordance with modern realities.
