Обговорення відновлення ядерних випробувань США триває у Вашингтоні.

According to glavcom.ua: U.S. officials responsible for the country's nuclear arsenal are planning to meet with White House representatives to persuade them of the importance of refraining from resuming nuclear tests, which involve detonating nuclear weapons. This was reported by CNN according to 'Glavkom'.

Among the participants in the negotiations will be U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright and the head of the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Brandon Williams. They hope to convince the White House to adhere to a realistic plan that will not involve the detonation of nuclear materials.

CNN notes that U.S. President Donald Trump may later order tests to be conducted, but federal officials hope to change this decision

Trump has previously emphasized that the United States is the only country that does not conduct nuclear tests, so he instructed the Pentagon to begin testing nuclear weapons to avoid being the only one with such a decision. However, this could negatively affect his chances of receiving the Nobel Peace Prize and lead to an escalation of conflict, according to The Washington Post.

Russia is awaiting official clarifications from the U.S. following Trump's statements about the possible resumption of nuclear tests, said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov

The meeting of U.S. officials with White House representatives regarding the issue of refraining from nuclear tests indicates serious discussions on the problem and attempts to find a compromise solution in the interest of maintaining peace in the world.
