The state will gain access to Ukrainians' accounts: what will change for online sellers
The state is preparing to take control of data about the place of residence and the movement of funds of Ukrainians working through online platforms. This concerns the new bill No. 14025, which will be considered at the next session of the Verkhovna Rada.
As part of this bill, a control and taxation system will be introduced for those who earn income through online platforms from any country. The tax service will have access to personal data of users for taxation purposes.
The main goal of the innovations is to achieve full control over the incomes of citizens earning through online platforms. The state will gain access to information about everyone earning income online, regardless of their place of work.
Who falls under this law
The law defines a 'reporting seller' as a platform user who has performed at least one transaction over the year or received a payment. This includes real estate rental, providing services, selling goods, and more.
The law applies to Ukrainians working with platforms in countries that have concluded the relevant agreements. The new system provides for detailed verification and collection of information from platforms about each user.
Digital platforms are required to provide the tax service with data about each seller, and banks must disclose information at the request of tax authorities without a court decision.
Bill No. 14025 provides for the introduction of a new control and taxation system for individuals working through online platforms from any country. The state will have access to data about citizens earning income online, regardless of their place of work.
