Housing in Ukraine: who has the right to a free apartment

Ukrainians have been informed about how to receive housing from the state. According to the new law 'On the Housing Fund for Social Purposes', the state provides assistance to those who cannot independently secure housing.

Ukraine is facing a serious problem of a shortage of affordable housing, hence the necessity to create support programs for citizens. State housing is provided free of charge to a group of people who genuinely need this assistance. Residents of emergency buildings, children without guardianship, people with severe illnesses - these are just some categories who can receive housing out of turn.

State housing remains the property of the state, and residents only pay for utilities. If there is a refusal in registration or provision of housing, the person has the right to challenge this decision in court. The main thing is to have all necessary documents and be on the list of candidates to have the opportunity to receive support from the state.
