Russia attacks energy sector: how it affects Ukraine's defense
According to glavcom.ua: Former Minister of Fuel and Energy of Ukraine Ivan Plachkov believes that Russian attacks on energy facilities have a serious impact on the situation at the front and overall on the country's defense capability. In an interview with 'Glavcom', he emphasized that damage to energy facilities and power outages create a chain reaction that is felt by both the military and the civilian sector.
“When there are outages, enterprises cannot operate. This can lead to problems with food, transport, and weapons, which affects the situation at the front. Such a situation also exists in Russia,” the ex-minister stressed.
Such “transformer wars” have important military significance, Plachkov noted. It should be reminded that recently Russian troops attacked the thermal power plant of Clear Energy, as well as halted the operation of all thermal power plants of PJSC “Centrenergo”.
Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure significantly affect the country's defense capability, creating serious problems for both military and civilian sectors. Damage to energy facilities and power outages can lead to difficulties in powering enterprises, transport, and supplying weapons, threatening the situation at the front and in the entire country as a whole.
