Residents of Kharkiv urged to stock up on water for June 17: what is the reason
Residents of parts of the Kyiv and Shevchenko districts of Kharkiv have been warned about a large-scale water supply interruption on June 17. There will be no water for almost nine hours due to planned works to prepare the water supply networks for the autumn-winter period. This was reported by the Kharkiv Water Company.
Water will be cut off in the Shevchenko district for nine hours
According to the company's information, the water supply will be interrupted on June 17 from 08:00 to 17:00.
The interruption will affect part of the Shevchenko district within the area bounded by the Lopani River, the ring road, the Pyatykhatky village, the forest park, the Kharkiv highway, and a number of adjacent streets.
Among them are Dmytro Antonenko, Sarzhynska, Europoska, Klochkivska, Feodosijska, Hahrarn, Djankoyska, and 1st Doroshenkivskyi entrance.
The utility company recommends that residents prepare a necessary supply of drinking and technical water in advance.
Part of the Kyiv district will also be without water supply
Temporary restrictions will also apply to part of the Kyiv district of Kharkiv.
There will be no water in the microdistricts located near the Kharkiv highway, forest park, Zhukovsky village, and the surrounding private sector.
Buildings on Kopylenka, Chuykivska, Saperna, Internatska, Hryhoriya Skovorody, Isaiivska, Shevchenka, Khotynska, Bakhmutska streets, and Hniedych alley will also be affected by the disconnection.
Reason for water disconnection in Kharkiv
The Kharkiv Water Company explained that the works are being carried out as part of the preparation of urban networks for the upcoming heating season.
Such preventive measures allow potential problems in the water supply networks to be identified and addressed before the cold weather arrives, reducing the risk of emergencies in winter.
After the works are completed, the water supply will be promised to be restored in normal mode.
It is reminded that during the extinguishing of a fire that occurred as a result of a repeated Russian shelling, five State Emergency Service (SES) employees were killed in Kharkiv.
