Kyiv Provides 313-Square-Meter Apartment to Family of 43
A New Home for the Rudych Family
According to Главком: The city of Kyiv has provided a new apartment to the large Rudych family. This family of 43 people, which includes 25 grandchildren, had been on the city's housing waiting list since 2007, enduring a wait for more space that lasted nearly two decades. The new apartment has a total area of 313 square meters, with 212 square meters designated as living space.
Mayor Vitali Klitschko personally handed over the occupancy permit for the new home. The three-level apartment is fully finished and ready to move into, featuring five rooms and completed interior work.
Housing Challenges Across Ukraine
This positive outcome in Kyiv contrasts with housing difficulties elsewhere in the country. In Ternopil, in January 2025, patrol police and child services discovered five young children living in tents with their mother, leading to the children being taken into care. These events underscore the critical need for supporting large families with adequate living conditions.
The provision of the apartment to the Rudych family represents a significant step in the city's social policy to assist large families. It highlights municipal efforts to house families facing difficult circumstances. However, the situation in Ternopil demonstrates that housing problems persist for some Ukrainian families, who require urgent assistance and support from authorities.
