Political technologist Hryniiv on corruption: There are no untouchables, otherwise there will be no trust
Ukrainian political technologist Ihor Hryniiv noted in an interview with 'Glavkom' that corruption is not the greatest evil, but it must be fought to restore public trust. He believes that many people consider the fight against corruption impossible, but this should not be a reason to abandon the idea.
'Corruption is not the greatest evil in society, but it must be fought. For, without defeating corruption, we will never achieve justice, trust, or economic prosperity.'
Hryniiv called for demonstrating a sense of justice and the absence of untouchables in politics to increase public trust in the authorities. He emphasized that the culture of strange camaraderie in politics hinders achieving this goal.
'For society to trust you, you must at least provide a sense of justice in the fight against corruption. And demonstrate that there are no untouchables for you.'
The political technologist also reminded about the importance of fighting corruption even in conditions of internal conflicts in the country. He cited the example of the fifth president of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych, who, according to Hryniiv, was not a pro-Russian president, despite his actions during the Revolution of Dignity.
Corruption must be fought to restore public trust in the authorities and ensure justice and economic prosperity.
