Lending in Ukraine has exceeded pre-war rates: what the NBU data shows

Rapid growth of lending in corporate and retail segments
Кредити в Україні знову зростають: нові дані НБУ свідчать про позитивні зміни.

Lending in Ukraine continues to show stable growth. According to the National Bank, in September 2025, gross loans to businesses in hryvnias increased by 20.5% compared to the previous year, while loans to individuals grew even faster - by 24.3%. These figures exceed experts' expectations.

The increase in lending indicates the resilience and capitalization of the banking sector in Ukraine. Receiving funds from clients is an important source for banks, allowing them to provide loans in the economy. In October, the growth of funds in banks for businesses was 15.3%, and for individuals - 17.3%.

'Net hryvnia loans to businesses in October 2025 increased by 35.2% compared to the previous period, and loans to individuals amounted to 32.3%. These indicators exceed expectations,' the NBU emphasizes.

Thus, the development of the credit market in Ukraine continues to move forward, demonstrating positive trends in both corporate and retail segments. This is an important signal for the country's economy and support for businesses and individuals.
