National Rally Leadership Issues Strong Condemnation of Russia

According to ХВИЛЯ: On September 19, Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella, leaders of France's National Rally party, jointly denounced Russia’s hostile conduct. They firmly stated that the Kremlin has no authority to interfere in French political affairs. This declaration came in response to Moscow’s recent move to place European company assets, including those of Auchan and Nestlé operating in Russia, under external management.

Their statement followed a high-level meeting held at the Élysée Palace the previous day, where France’s geopolitical challenges were a major topic. Jordan Bardella’s participation underscored the issue’s prominence on the national political agenda. In their message, the leaders emphasized:

“The Kremlin cannot expect to influence France’s policies-whether directly or indirectly-through intimidation, threats, destabilization tactics, or psychological pressure.”

Le Pen and Bardella further stressed that no provocations or disruptive efforts will coerce France into endorsing Russia’s military objectives in Ukraine. They highlighted that the democratic debate should focus on the scope and conditions of financial aid to Ukraine, affirming that such discussions are legitimate, while foreign interference remains unacceptable.

As a leading contender in the upcoming French presidential elections, Marine Le Pen, alongside Bardella, articulated a clear stance against external meddling in France’s internal matters. This position reflects growing concern within France over Russia’s actions and their potential impact on European politics.

The National Rally leaders’ statement underscores France’s commitment to national sovereignty and refusal to succumb to foreign influence amid current geopolitical tensions. It signals that support for Ukraine and responses to Russian aggression remain central to French political discourse, even as internal debates face challenges from external pressures. France is determined to maintain autonomy in its foreign policy in the face of increasing Kremlin threats.
