In Lviv, it is planned to completely remove the outdated small-sized buses 'Bogdan' and 'Etalon' from the routes. They will be replaced with modern large vehicles with low floors, air conditioning, and amenities for passengers with reduced mobility. This is reported by Vholos.

The city authorities have set clear tasks for the carriers - to completely renew the fleet by the end of the year. The old minibuses will gradually disappear from the streets, and their place will be taken by larger buses with improved comfort levels.

Lviv Transport Update: What Buses Will Appear on the Routes

As part of the reform, carriers are required to bring new buses that meet modern standards into operation. This includes:

  • low-floor buses for convenient boarding
  • availability of air conditioning
  • inclusive access for people with disabilities
  • greater capacity compared to old minibuses.

Such an update is expected to make public transport more comfortable and accessible for all categories of passengers.

Transportation Reform in Lviv: What Will Change for Passengers

As explained by the director of the city mobility department, Oleg ZABARILO, the replacement of transport is part of a broader strategy. At the same time, the city is developing infrastructure for public transport.

In particular, the following is planned:

  • expansion of dedicated lane networks
  • reduction of traffic jams for buses
  • improvement of schedule adherence.

Separately, it is planned to build a new bus depot in Lviv with the support of European financial institutions. This will allow for optimizing transport operations, reducing empty runs, and increasing service efficiency.

The reform is also supplemented by the expansion of the route network, which should improve the connection of the city with nearby settlements.

It should be noted that Lviv received 8 large 12-meter buses from Temsa.
