Lviv has been without water for the third day: what caused the largest accident in a decade
An accident occurred on the main water pipeline in Lviv, leaving part of the city without water for the third day. The 'Lvivvodokanal' agency calls this incident the most significant in recent decades. Currently, about 50 thousand residents of the city remain without water supply due to this accident.
Active workers are restoring the broken water pipelines, but additional damage complicates the work. Emergency crews are currently working without weekends to restore water supply to residents as quickly as possible, but the situation has been described as extremely challenging.
«We do not remember such a complex situation with water supply in Lviv. Our teams are working at their limits to quickly restore water supply to residents. We ask citizens to show understanding and patience, and appreciate the efforts of our workers», - stated in 'Lvivvodokanal'.
There are also serious water supply problems in some occupied territories in Donbas. There is a catastrophic lack of water there, and the occupying authorities can provide only a quarter of the required volumes. This poses a threat not only to the daily lives of residents but also to a possible outbreak of epidemics due to insufficient water supply.
