Ukraine’s Culture Minister Brings Newborn Daughter to URC-2026 Conference
Attending the URC-2026 Conference
According to Главком: Ukraine’s Minister of Culture, Tetiana Berezhna, participated in the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC-2026) held in Gdańsk, accompanied by her daughter, Osaka. During the event, she held numerous meetings and signed key partnerships. Berezhna emphasized that having her daughter by her side was a tremendous source of support and a constant reminder of her mission-to build a better future for both Ukraine and her child.
Tetiana Berezhna: 'URC2026 done. I signed several important partnerships and had many meetings. But one of the most meaningful was with Osaka. My daughter was with me these days, just as she is on all my trips. She is my greatest support and the best reminder of why I work-for her future and for the Ukraine she will grow up in.'
Future Plans
Looking ahead, Berezhna proposed creating a dedicated children’s space for delegation members at URC-2027, which will take place in Estonia. 'For URC2027 in Estonia, I am taking along a separate idea-a space for the children of delegation participants. Osaka fully supports this idea,' she added.
Tetiana Berezhna was appointed Vice Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy and Minister of Culture of Ukraine in October 2024, receiving support from 266 members of parliament. She became the fifth culture minister in five years, a point highlighted by lawmaker Yaroslav Zheleznyak. Notably, Berezhna gave birth to her daughter on December 25, 2025, marking another significant milestone in her life.
Berezhna’s participation in URC-2026 underscores the critical role of international support in Ukraine’s post-conflict recovery. Her proposal for a children’s space at the next conference in Estonia could be a pivotal step in involving families in the recovery process, drawing attention to the needs of younger generations. It also reflects her personal commitment to children’s futures, adding a human dimension to her political work.
Berezhna's commitment to blending her professional responsibilities with family life resonates with her earlier experiences, such as when she brought her newborn daughter on an official trip to Latvia. This ongoing dedication not only highlights the importance of family in her role but also reflects her vision for a more inclusive approach in future international events.
