Ministry of Defense to Purchase Food for the Army for 37 Billion: What Will Change

The state logistics operator of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine plans to purchase food products for the next year

'This is the first time that the logistics operator is making food purchases for the entire year at once. The total expected cost is approximately 37 billion UAH. This approach will ensure a continuous supply of food to military units, stable conditions for suppliers’ operations, and the ability to plan production in advance. Previously, purchases were made separately for each half of the year,' - stated the Ministry of Defense.

For the second consecutive year, the logistics operator is starting the procurement cycle for the next year in advance, and this time – even earlier than in the previous one.

Maintaining Quality Control Conditions and Regional Supply Strategy

New contracts will maintain enhanced quality control conditions, particularly for dairy product supplies, to prevent cases of counterfeiting.

'A regional supply strategy, which has already proven effective in the previous period, is also continuing to operate. Under this model, the supplier is assigned to a specific region ( oblast ), allowing convenient management of logistics, prompt deliveries, and quick responses to possible changes,' - reported the Ministry of Defense.

As of the end of October 2025: over 599 million kg of products shipped; over 249 million liters of drinking water delivered; more than 85,000 applications from military units processed.

It was reported that the state logistics operator of the Ministry of Defense continues to ensure a continuous supply of food products to military units, planning purchases not only for the half-year but for the entire next year. The implementation of the regional supply strategy contributes to effective management and prompt deliveries.
