Ihor Klymenko Joins Reform Coordination Council

According to МВС: Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko participated in the inaugural meeting of the Coordination Council for implementing the Comprehensive Strategic Plan for Law Enforcement Reform for 2023–2027. The meeting reviewed changes already enacted and discussed plans for further modernization of the police system.

Implemented Reforms

The key changes already operational include:

  • The launch of the unified emergency number 112,
  • An upgraded public alert system,
  • A new Human Resource Management (HRM) strategy,
  • The establishment of a specialized coordination center.

Minister Ihor Klymenko emphasized that, despite the ongoing war, these structural reforms continue to bolster the nation's resilience both now and for the post-war period. This reform process is a critical component of Ukraine's broader integration with European standards.

Following the meeting, a discussion took place involving representatives from law enforcement agencies, central executive authorities, international partners, and members of parliament, highlighting the collaborative nature of the reform efforts.

The overhaul of Ukraine's law enforcement system is a vital step toward ensuring stability and security during the armed conflict. The implemented changes aim not only to improve the efficiency of police work but also to strengthen public trust in these institutions.
