80% of Ukrainian companies have provided themselves with generators: how this has changed business
The Ukrainian business has demonstrated a unique ability to adapt to constant attacks on energy infrastructure - eight out of ten enterprises have ensured they have autonomous power sources. This was reported by the Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Andriy Pyshny at an extraordinary session of the Kyiv Security Forum.
According to the data from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, 80% of Ukrainian enterprises are ready for power outages as they are equipped with generators and alternative energy sources. This has significantly changed the situation compared to 2022.
'As a nation, we have learned to live in a state of constant risk and not lose effectiveness,' emphasized Pyshny.
National Bank Forecast
The National Bank has revised its forecasts regarding the losses of electricity due to Russian shelling. It is expected that in the fourth quarter of this year, the electricity deficit will amount to up to 4%, and on average for the year - about 1.3%. In 2026, a deficit of 3% is projected.
'Despite energy challenges, inflation remains under control,' noted the head of the NBU.
The financial system actively supports the energy sector, financing various projects for the creation of generation capacities and energy storage. Lending in the economy has also increased, indicating positive business development in Ukraine.
Ukrainian enterprises are actively preparing for challenges related to energy security. Thanks to autonomous power sources, the business remains resilient even in situations of constant risk. The National Bank forecasts an electricity deficit in the country, but notes controlled inflation and positive economic development.
