Ukrainian Arrested in Germany on Espionage Charges

According to Главком: Germany has taken into custody and extradited from Spain a Ukrainian national identified as Serhiy N., who is accused of spying for Russia and planning acts of sabotage against a German manufacturer of military drones intended for Ukraine. According to the German Federal Prosecutor's Office, Serhiy N. is charged with preparing physical attacks or an attempted assault on a businessman connected to this company.

The arrest of Serhiy N. occurred on March 24 at the request of German authorities. It is noted that an investigating judge at the German Federal Court issued and executed an arrest warrant for the suspect on May 15. Following his detention, Serhiy N. was extradited to Germany yesterday, relative to the publication date. He is originally from the Kharkiv region and, starting in December 2025, began gathering intelligence on a German company supplying Ukraine with military kamikaze drones. The suspect secretly filmed the company's premises, while his accomplice, Alla S., investigated the private address of the company's founder and photographed the entrance to his home.

Other Arrests and Security Threats

Additionally, a Kazakh citizen was detained in Berlin, who, according to investigators, is also suspected of espionage on behalf of Russian intelligence services. This individual is reported to have been in contact with a Russian intelligence agency since at least May 2025.

Furthermore, a Ukrainian citizen named Vitalii M. was arrested in Germany on suspicion of spying on a member of the Ukrainian Armed Forces for the benefit of Russia. Vitalii M. was taken into custody on March 27, 2026. The head of the company where the targeted individual works stated that the person 'is safe and has already implemented additional control measures.'

These incidents highlight Germany's growing concern over espionage activities that could threaten the security of the country and its allies.

The arrests of Serhiy N. and other suspects indicate an intensification of counter-terrorism measures in Germany, as well as tighter oversight of foreign agents who may act against national security. Investigations into such cases may also reveal new dimensions in probing potential collaboration among spies from different countries, particularly regarding threats in the military domain.

In light of the recent espionage cases in Germany, including the detention of a Kazakh national suspected of spying for Russia, the security threats posed by foreign operatives continue to escalate. These incidents highlight the growing concern over intelligence activities targeting critical industries, particularly those linked to military supplies for Ukraine.
