The Occupants Destroyed All Ukrainian Monuments in Mariupol: What They Are Replacing Them With
According to glavcom.ua: Yesterday it became known that Russian occupants in Mariupol decided to destroy all Ukrainian murals, monuments, and pedestals. This information was confirmed by the Mariupol City Council. Instead of Ukrainian symbols and monuments, they are filling the city with murals featuring Russian tricolors and propaganda about 'friendship with cities of the Russian Federation'.
The city is being forcefully Russified, and historical events are being deliberately distorted
According to the director of 'Mariupol Television' Mykola Osichenko, the occupants even renamed Azovstal Street to Tula Avenue and installed a monument to gingerbread and samovar. This is yet another example of an attempt to erase Ukrainian history and replace it with Russian artifacts.
The Situation with the Reservoir in Mariupol
Recently it was reported that the temporarily occupied Mariupol's StaroCrimean Reservoir has nearly completely dried up, posing a threat to fish and aquatic ecosystems. The situation is becoming increasingly complicated for the city and its residents.
In addition, the commander of the Third Army Corps Andriy Biletsky expressed the opinion that Ukraine will be able to reclaim Mariupol, but a favorable historical moment is needed. As an example, he cited Azerbaijan's successful reclaim of Nagorno-Karabakh.
In Mariupol, Russian occupants are destroying Ukrainian murals and monuments, Russifying the city, which creates a threat to the cultural heritage and identity of local residents. It has also been discovered that the StaroCrimean Reservoir has dried up, which may lead to the loss of water resources and fish supplies in the city.
