According to Главком: Norwegian biathlete Johanne-Olav Botn claimed the gold medal in the men's 20km individual race at the 2026 Winter Olympics. The 26-year-old delivered a flawless shooting performance, hitting all 20 targets, and crossed the finish line with a time of 51 minutes and 31.5 seconds. This event marked the opening of the individual biathlon competitions at the Games.

France's Eric Perrot captured the silver medal, finishing 14.8 seconds behind Botn. The bronze went to another Norwegian, Sturla Lægreid, who was 48.3 seconds off the winning pace.

How the Ukrainian Biathletes Fared

Ukrainian team captain Dmytro Pidruchnyi finished in 18th place. His result of 0+3+0+0 indicates three missed shots on the range, and he finished 4 minutes and 38.9 seconds behind the leader. This performance matched his result from the previous Olympic Games in Beijing. Other Ukrainian athletes in the race included:
