Briton survives failed parachute jump in Nevada

According to glavcom.ua: Mitchell Deakin miraculously survived a tandem jump with an instructor, during which neither man’s main nor reserve parachute deployed. Fortunately, both survived the fall from three kilometers in Nevada.

The Briton sustained serious injuries, including a fractured pelvis, broken ribs, a damaged kidney, and a punctured lung. Doctors performed a complex surgery to install metal plates to stabilize the pelvis. Currently, Deakin’s condition is gradually improving, but the instructor remains in critical condition.

The circumstances of this unfortunate incident are being investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States.

Mitchell's partner has raised over 16 thousand pounds for his treatment and rehabilitation. If the funds raised exceed the needs, they are planned to be donated to charity.

Unfortunately, a Ukrainian cadet recently died during a training jump at the airfield. We express our condolences to the family of the deceased.
