Pensions in 2026 Will Be Calculated Based on a New Indicator
In Ukraine, the average salary indicator used for calculating future pensions has been updated. According to the Pension Fund, in September it rose to 21,190.31 UAH, which is 1,376 UAH more than the previous month. This indicator will affect the payments for those retiring in 2026–2028. Changes in the Average Salary in Ukraine in 2025
The PFU notes a positive trend - since the beginning of the year, the average indicator has increased by more than 2,530 UAH. The last jump was recorded in June, and now the upward trend has returned.

Impact on Future Pension Amounts
The basic three-year indicator of the average salary for calculating current pensions in 2025 is 15,057.09 UAH. For those retiring after this year, the updated values - including the high September indicator - will be included in the formula. This will impact the ratio of individual salary to the average, and thus the final payment amount.
Indexation: What to Expect
Pensions are increased annually, based on a mixed coefficient:

50% inflation + 50% average salary growth over the last three years.
The faster the average salary rises, the greater the indexation coefficient - and thus, the higher the payments received by pensioners.
