According to hvylya.net: The government has submitted a draft of the State Budget for the next year to the Verkhovna Rada, which provides for an increase in the minimum pension and other social standards. However, experts point out that these changes may be insufficient for many citizens and have already provoked ambiguous reactions.

Journalist Irina Polyakova examined the budget draft in detail and highlighted the problematic aspects of these changes.

Minimum Pension: +234 UAH

According to the document, the minimum pension will only increase by 234 UAH from the beginning of next year. Other key indicators, such as the minimum wage and the subsistence minimum, will also rise.

  • Minimum Wage: from 8000 UAH to 8647 UAH.

  • Subsistence Minimum: from 2920 UAH to 3209 UAH.

Other benefits and payments will also increase, but only by insignificant amounts, which causes some outrage in society.

Not Everyone Will Receive a Significant Increase

It is worth noting that substantial increases are only planned for residents of mountainous areas; in other cases, pension increases may be symbolic. The real consequences of these changes will only be known after the budget is adopted by the Verkhovna Rada.

According to the proposed pension increases in the draft State Budget for 2026, the government plans to raise the minimum pension by only 234 UAH, which may be insufficient for many pensioners. Other indicators, such as the minimum wage and the subsistence minimum, will also rise. However, the real impact of these changes on people's lives will be determined after the budget is adopted and may turn out to be less significant than expected.
