Scandal Erupts Over Olya Polyakova and Iryna Kovalska's Relationship

According to Главком: A significant controversy has been sparked by an interview from Vadym Buryakovsky, the husband of singer Olya Polyakova. In response to his statements, Polyakova's former producer, Iryna Kovalska (also known as Rozaliya Romanova), has given her version of events in an interview with the publication Glavcom. She detailed the start of Polyakova's career, the terms of their contract, and the reasons for its termination.

Olya Polyakova met Iryna Kovalska in 1999 when she was 19. Kovalska, who graduated from the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in 1992, co-founded the company KM Studio with her husband Oleksandr Kovalsky in 1994. Polyakova's first music video, 'Tak ne byvaet' ('It Doesn't Happen Like That'), was filmed in 1999-2000. A five-year contract was signed between Polyakova and Kovalska, stipulating Polyakova would receive 15% of her concert fees. Polyakova's debut album was released in 2001, with her next one following in 2017. Vadym Buryakovsky entered the picture in the summer of 2003. The contract was terminated early, with Kovalska receiving a $25,000 settlement.

Irina Kovalska also noted that Olya Polyakova owes her $600 for video cassettes provided. She expressed her feelings toward Polyakova, stating:

"I love Polyakova. I still love her. Because I see myself in her."

Irina Kovalska, now 58, currently lives in Switzerland. She shared about her life, saying:

"Now I live in Switzerland, travel the world, and visit Ukraine..."

In her own comments, Polyakova raised financial matters, stating: 'God, how tired I am of these free events. I wish I had concerts like that every day and got $2-3 thousand for them.' She also appealed to Kovalska to repay the debt, saying: 'Olya, I really need money for my mother right now, please pay back the debt.' However, according to Kovalska, Polyakova read the message and did not reply.

KM Studio and Iryna Kovalska's Successes

KM Studio, founded by Kovalska, is known for a series of successful programs, including:

  • "Sydy i dyvys" ("Sit and Watch")
  • "Muzychny Puzohriy" ("Music Potbelly")
  • "Khochu shche" ("I Want More")
  • "Ofis bez mezh" ("Office Without Borders")
  • "Vernisazh" ("Vernissage")

Kovalska also worked on music videos for other performers, notably 'Serdenko' ('Little Heart') for Oleksandr Ponomaryov, 'V style tekno' ('In Techno Style') for Kamaliya, and 'Napyshy meni, dole, lysta' ('Write Me a Letter, Fate') for the band Mahiya. Olya Polyakova's videos produced under Kovalska include 'Malvy' ('Hollyhocks'), 'Darom dam' ('I'll Give It for Free'), and 'Tsiluy mene' ('Kiss Me'). It is worth noting that the song 'Tsiluy mene' required 29 takes to record, with one session lasting six hours.

This situation continues to draw public attention, as the relationship between Polyakova and Kovalska, along with their financial disputes, remains a central topic of discussion.
