Dutch Prime Minister's Visit to Ukraine
According to Кулеба: On his first trip to Ukraine since taking office, Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten visited the site of a missile strike in Kyiv's Svyatoshyn district. The attack, which occurred on July 31, 2025, destroyed the entrance of a nine-story residential building, killing 29 people, including 5 children. More than 150 others were wounded, with 18 apartments completely destroyed and another 54 damaged.
In response to the attack, 87 housing certificates worth a total of 94 million hryvnias were issued under the eRecovery program. Additionally, 32 families received compensation totaling 1.6 million hryvnias to repair their damaged homes. This visit underscores the ongoing human cost of the war for Western leaders. Overall, Russian attacks have damaged or destroyed over 4,000 structures in Kyiv, approximately 3,000 of which are residential buildings.
Netherlands-Ukraine Cooperation
During his meetings, further cooperation between the Netherlands and Ukraine was discussed, focusing on housing reconstruction and strengthening energy resilience. The Netherlands has already provided 25 million euros in aid to Ukraine's energy sector, demonstrating its sustained support during a critical period.
Rob Jetten's visit to Ukraine highlights the crucial role of international support in the country's recovery from devastating attacks.
As a key partner, the Netherlands continues to provide financial assistance for infrastructure reconstruction, particularly housing, which remains a pressing need amid constant threats.
