Problems with Voltage Fluctuations in Ukraine: Expert Predicts How Many Years It Will Last
Problems with Voltage Fluctuations in Ukraine
Expert Oleksandr Kharchenko warns that issues with the electricity grid and voltage fluctuations in Ukraine may continue for several more years, particularly in the capital region. Kharchenko, director of the Energy Research Center, notes that the situation with the power grids may persist for several years, and Kyiv and the Kyiv region are at a heightened risk of voltage fluctuations.
Situation in Kyiv and Energy Challenges
The situation in Kyiv may be more complicated than in other regions of Ukraine. Energy companies do not have sufficient resources to restore the system, making it difficult to correct the situation. Oleksandr Kharchenko emphasizes that the equipment used in the power grids is not designed for constant switching on and off. As a result, he says, the issues with voltage fluctuations will last for several more years.
'The situation will gradually improve, and users of the power grid will feel positive changes every two to three days.' Oleksandr Kharchenko
However, despite gradual improvements, serious challenges in the energy sector remain, and addressing them will require time and resources.
In the context of a prolonged war and economic difficulties in Ukraine, problems with electricity supply can have serious consequences for the population and businesses. Given these challenges, the importance of reforming the energy sector becomes particularly relevant. Restoring infrastructure and modernizing equipment may be key steps towards stabilizing electricity supply in the country.
