The Verkhovna Rada granted military deferment after a one-year contract: details

The Rada supported the bill on the new deferment
Верховна Рада ухвалила рішення про надання військового відстрочки після підписання контракту терміном на рік: подробиці.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported a bill that provides for granting deferment from conscription into military service during mobilization for certain categories of citizens. In particular, it concerns those who are liable for military service and reservists aged 18 to 25 who were recruited for military service under a one-year contract during martial law and were subsequently discharged.

It is noted that these individuals may be called up for military service only with their consent within 12 months from the moment of discharge. The bill aims to eliminate the legal conflict arising from the loss of the right to deferment until reaching the age of 25 after the end of the contract. This will allow those liable for military service to adapt after military service before a new call-up.

The adoption of this law is an important step towards ensuring social support and protecting the rights of citizens who have already had military service experience and need time to return to civilian life.
