Advisor of the Ministry of Education on the shock in Turkey: You are the first Ukrainian to refuse Russian

Olena Severenchuk, advisor to the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, shared her impressions of her vacation in Turkey on social media. She noted the problem of the Russification of Turkish resorts and talked about how Ukrainians behaved abroad. Severenchuk went on vacation with her children, who had not had the opportunity to relax by the sea for a long time due to internal events in the country.

In the hotel in Turkey, the Russian language was dominant almost everywhere. Even in the hospital, when Olena's daughter fell ill, the medical staff refused to communicate in English, assuming that their clients were mainly Russian-speaking tourists. This attitude shocked Olena, and she saw a problem in it, deciding to contact the tour operator.

The agreement to refuse the Russian language angered the hotel staff

During a conversation with the hotel manager, who tried to communicate in Ukrainian, Olena Severenchuk discovered that he was one of the few Ukrainians who decided to completely refuse to use Russian in communication. He was thanked for his support and careful attitude towards the Ukrainian language. However, Severenchuk decided to draw attention to the negative consequences of such a widespread Russian atmosphere on tourists and the general perception of Ukrainians abroad.
