Children in Irpin Learn Life-Saving Safety Skills from Rescue Workers
Safety Lesson for Kindergarten Students
According to ДСНС: Rescue teams from the Kyiv region recently held a safety lesson for children at a kindergarten in Irpin. During the event, the kids actively took part in themed safety games, learning to distinguish between safe and unsafe actions. For example, they practiced extinguishing a simulated fire and learned proper responses to smoke-such as crouching down, covering their noses, and safely exiting a room.
Interactive Training and Hands-On Activities
The children also learned how to correctly call the emergency number 101 and what information to provide to the dispatcher in case of danger. As part of the program, they had the chance to try on real firefighting gear and helmets, which sparked great enthusiasm. The young participants eagerly transformed into miniature firefighters and asked many questions about the work of the emergency service. At the end of the session, each child received educational materials from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) and UNICEF.
This initiative represents a key step in building children's foundational safety knowledge and a conscious attitude toward risks. Such programs not only teach kids how to act in emergencies but also foster a positive view of the rescue profession, potentially inspiring future career choices. These efforts also highlight the commitment of local authorities and civic organizations to strengthening a culture of safety among the younger generation.
In a similar initiative, firefighters from Bukovyna recently organized a safety class for children, emphasizing the importance of early education in emergency preparedness.
