Russia recruits gamers into cyber troops: what the Kremlin has in store for youth
According to hvylya.net: The Center for Countering Disinformation reported on Russia's plans to create 'troops of gamers'. According to Russian propagandists, video game enthusiasts will be able to learn drone management faster - in just 10 hours, compared to 40 hours for regular recruits.
'This language aims at the covert mobilization of youth and maintaining real training. In simplified courses for drone operators and 'cyber troops', gaming skills are considered equivalent to genuine combat experience,' explained the Center.
It was emphasized that Russia is replacing long-term military training with the illusion of 'gaming skills', which does not correspond to the reality of war. 'Such an approach leads to high losses among the mobilized and exacerbates the militarization of society,' noted the experts.
The gaming industry as a tool of state ideology in Russia
In general, the gaming industry in Russia is becoming a tool of state ideology and youth recruitment. 'The scenario looks like this: lectures on 'patriotism', training exercises, and contract offers,' clarified the Center.
The announcement of creating 'troops of gamers' in Russia raises outrage and concern among experts who consider such an approach ineffective and dangerous, threatening the quality of training and the safety of the country.
