Russian Comedian Slepakov Mocks Putin in a Song About a 'Little War'
Semyon Slepakov's Track 'Little War'
According to Главком: Russian comedian Semyon Slepakov, now based in Israel, has released a song addressing President Vladimir Putin titled 'Little War'. In this new piece, Slepakov raises critical issues surrounding the conflict now entering its fifth year and the government's handling of the situation.
The lyrics reference Putin's initial expectation of capturing Kyiv and ending the war within three days.
“Little war, little war, it would be over in three days, that was the plan. Drones fly over the capital, the whole country is in disarray, this little war has stretched on for nearly five long years,” Slepakov writes. He also highlights Ukrainian drones flying over Moscow.
Commentary and Social Issues
The comedian comments on an awkward incident from May, when Putin struggled to shout 'Hurrah' three times. Slepakov adds,
“Even a hedgehog knows, and even Shaman, that it's time to make peace, but someone insists everything is going according to plan-hurrah, hurrah, hurrah.”
The song also touches on rising gasoline prices, though its primary focus is on ensuring 'her reliable rear is well protected.'
Through his music, Semyon Slepakov questions official narratives and attitudes toward the ongoing war in Ukraine. His work reflects the sentiments of a segment of the population and sparks debate about Russia's current domestic and foreign policy.
This track serves as another example of artists using their platforms to voice criticism and engage with pressing social and political issues. Amid the prolonged conflict and growing public discontent, such creative works can become powerful tools for raising awareness and prompting reflection on the country's future.
