Russia Excluded from 2027 Ice Hockey World Championship Lineup
Russia Left Out of 2027 World Championship
According to Главком: The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) has omitted Russia from the list of nations competing in the 2027 World Championship in Germany, despite recently lifting a ban that had prevented Russian and Belarusian teams from participating in the 2026-2027 season. This marks the sixth consecutive tournament Russia will miss, a consequence of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine that began in 2022. As the IIHF stated, 'lifting the ban does not mean an automatic return to competition.'
