Barrier-Free Movement: Which Cities in Ukraine Have Become More Accessible
Work is ongoing in Lviv and Kropyvnytskyi to create accessible sidewalks as part of the 'Barrier-Free Movement' initiative. In the Lychakivskyi district, the sidewalk near the stop has been updated to make it convenient for patients of the Border Guards' Hospital. In the Shevchenkivskyi district of Lviv, major repairs have begun on an important part of the inclusive route. In Kropyvnytskyi, work is also underway on Theatre Street to create a barrier-free route, making it safe for all road users.
A veteran ambassador conducted an inspection of pilot routes in Ternopil and Chernivtsi. In both cities, he noted positive changes and assessed the renovated sections. In Chernivtsi, work on the barrier-free route is ongoing, with completion planned by the end of the year. Vinnytsia is also actively working on creating an accessible urban space, conducting training and setting up new accessible areas for residents and guests of the city.
