Fraudsters have invented a 'monetary reform': who is at risk and how to protect oneself

The press service of the patrol police of Kyiv reported that fraudsters in Ukraine are actively using a new scam scheme called 'monetary reform'.

One common type of fraud involves scammers coming to people's homes pretending that a monetary reform is ongoing and convincing them to exchange their existing money for new banknotes.

It is indicated that older people are most often victims of such scams. To avoid such situations, it is advisable to let only familiar individuals into your home, consult trusted persons, and inform relatives about suspicious visits.

'Be vigilant, do not trust strangers! If you have fallen victim to fraudsters, immediately seek help from the police,' urged Ukrainians.

To ensure your own safety in case of an attempted scam, it is also recommended to report the incident to the special line 112.
