According to hvylya.net: According to the expert, the risk is highest for the coastal areas of the Black Sea, particularly for Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kherson regions, and Crimea. However, the most vulnerable object is the Crimean bridge itself, which could be destructive in an earthquake of 7-8 magnitude due to the existing tectonic faults and soil characteristics in the area.
Scientist Dmytro Hryn warns that a strong earthquake in southern Ukraine could destroy the illegally built Crimean bridge by the Russians. He recalled the destructive earthquakes that occurred in Crimea in 1927 and noted that there have been no strong tremors in the Romanian Vrancea zone for over 35 years.
The scientist warns about the possible risk of the Crimean bridge collapsing due to a strong earthquake, which could be very dangerous for the entire region. Considering historical examples and the specifics of the geological situation, security measures should be improved to prevent potential consequences of a disaster.
