Ukraine celebrates Children's Day for the first time on November 20: what it means
Children's Day in Ukraine
According to МЗС: Today, Ukraine celebrates Children's Day on November 20, which symbolically coincides with the anniversary of the adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and Universal Children's Day.
Our children are forced to wait for their dad or mom to return from the front, flee from war, attend classes during air raid alerts, and study in underground schools. Yet, even under such conditions, they show incredible resilience and courage, participate in volunteer campaigns, dream, and believe in our victory. Their strength is immense, sometimes even greater than we can imagine.
These words were expressed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha, emphasizing the importance of protecting children's future and their safety.
The Minister also noted that efforts continue in Ukraine to implement programs for the return of Ukrainian children who were forcibly taken to Russia. Additionally, measures are being taken to attract humanitarian aid and organize projects for the rehabilitation of children affected by the war.
On Children's Day, it is essential to honor the children who are enduring difficult trials and to support them in challenging life situations, as well as to make every possible effort to ensure their happy and safe childhood.
