According to glavcom.ua: A soldier who refused to perform combat duty in the Kupiansk direction has been punished by the Osnovyansky District Court of Kharkiv. He was found guilty of insubordination for refusing to serve at the observation points 'Kreida' and 'Talk' in the Kharkiv region, which led to a decrease in the combat readiness of his unit.
During the trial, the soldier admitted his guilt and was sentenced to two years in prison, but this sentence was commuted to service restrictions. He is also prohibited from being promoted or receiving a military rank, and he will be fined 20% of his earnings.
In the material of 'Hromadske' 'Who should judge the military? A conversation about why military justice needs to be revived' it is argued how important it is to have a separate court system for military personnel and whether ordinary courts can objectively consider cases related to their service.
